Anderson Bakewell was not a great whisky fan when he set up the distillery.
He wanted to do something about the ever-decreasing population of Harris.
He secured the largest public grant ever awarded to a food and drink business in Scotland.
Many other grants and private investments followed.
The distillery currently primarily produces Harris Gin.
